Active Threat / Workplace Violence Prevention and Awareness course is instructed by Certified USCCA instructors. You will learn about the best way to recognize a potential threat before it occurs and what to do if you find yourself in an Active Threat Situation. Students will get a comprehensive analysis on the data gathered from prior Active Threat situations and learn signs of a potential threat, so the correct response protocols can by activated. The course also includes the following topics:


  • What have we learned about Active Shooters / Active Threats?

  • Situational awareness

  • Countering the threat

  • Recognition and Response to a threat.

  • How to tell if someone may be planning a mass shooting / Hostile Event

  • Special security considerations for schools, businesses and churches

  • How to use the run, hide, fight methodology

  • How to perform triage and treat the wounded

  • Where do we go from here?

 

If requested, the instructors can do a church security add-on. What if your most precious moments of worship were disrupted by acts of evil? Would your place of worship know how to keep the congregation safe? The following will be addressed:

  • Uncover the unsettling reality of mass shootings in houses of worship by examining attacks from across the country

  • Understand the common challenges most places of worship face and discover how to overcome them with a comprehensive security checklist

  • Discover how to prepare for, prevent, respond to, and deal with the aftermath of an active shooter event

Part II is a separate course and focuses on creating a personalized emergency operations plan (EOP) and utilizing the material in Part I for practical exercises. We will review the EOP and put it to test during tabletop exercises, short scenarios at a slow pace, and then gradually accelerating to a final exercise. More will be explained at the end of the Part I course.
